infared heaters

Has anyone seen these sunheat infared heaters? We have had 3 calls in the last week of these heaters melting the cord ends. What would be causing these cord ends to be melting. Do you think its someting faulty in the unit its self? The coincidence is that they have all been plugged into the adapters that fit into a non grounding receptacle

Possibly the 50-year-old receptacles they're plugged in to have lost their 'grip' with the business end of the cord.

thats what i kind of thought but they were just put in and they were holding the plug pretty nice

The "adapters" probably don't help the situation. Thats adding more possibility for a loose connection and my guess would be they were the most inexpensive ones available
I've seen many of them "melt". Any heat generated would be generated to the plug also.
