Infra Red Cameras

Is anyone using an Infra red camera yet?
I'm looking real hard @ getting one & marketing it.
ALL of the trade magazines are advertising these a lot. I'm just wondering how much work there is to grab. It sure looks easier than pulling wires & crawling in attics.
These are Expensive! What would be a fair rate to charge for this?

 Yes, I would also buy a SWAT suit and purchase an assault rifle.

I would convince the owner that an evil "heat source" may exist on his premises that would forever destroy his life as he has known it.

You could then run a "mission" on the property with a maintnence man in tow but he could not carry a weapon. Only "YOU".

Forgive me

This is actually a very competitive market, a IR camera requires training and understanding of how IR heat passes through materials and what delta T's are acceptable.

Some guys just take IR pictures with one and have no idea what they are doing, they are cheap. A training IR tech can charge fairly high rates but there is time required for generating a report for each item.

You can find some used ones on Ebay.

We have three FLIR cameras and keep them pretty busy. You can expect to get anywhere from $700 to $900 per day for thermographic inspections.

As has been mentioned above, training and certification is a must.
