We are cabling(voice and data)a small building and need to run 4" conduits between floors within the outside walls. They do not want cores in the floors.
2-questions. Does code allow 4" plastic pipe to be ran within walls (schedule 40)? Do they have to be the metal pipe (galvinized)?
Next, the drywall in this building runs up to the cielings on the outside walls which leads me believe they are fire rated. Can I cut out, say 2x2 sections of the drywall to access the conduits and run the cabling through then, fire stop around the conduits leaving them accessable for cabling in the future?
