with an incentive for installing new t5 or t8 fixtures ,plus the newest type lighting led. Does your state, city or
municipality require an electrical inspection? Because all that the electrician is doing is replacing existing fixtures
such as hps, hid or mercury type. All the circuits and wire sizes would still be the same as there aren't any additional
loads involved. In fact, the loads would decrease. I do not know the state, utility company or the federal govern-
ment would require an inspection in order to obtain the grant monies which are available to thes companies.

There is not any exception in MA, that I have heard of, that excludes pulling of a permit for any type of work. Partially because it registers the EC's insurance with the town. This way if there is an issue down the road it is certified that there was liability insurance enforce when the work was done.

You are still doing electrical work and still need a license (in most areas).
