I was going to mount a bell box with a gfci outlet,and a inuse weather proof cover and plug the cord in.Is there anything wrong with this?Thank you.

I have wired instant hots outside and they are rated as outdoor units but I have never seen one with a plug. They have always been direct wire units.

Yes they make them; here's one I did a few weeks ago.

I have worked w/ the outdoor rated Rinnai gas w/h's, and they used a cord-and-plug disconnect.
