I have a customer who wants me to run PVC on his pool screen enclosure on the outside surface to mount a floodlight assembly for his back yard. I don't like the idea of this, first will be butt ugly, second, the the WP box will cover part of the screen making rescreening impossible without removing the box. First, is it a violation to do this? Is this an OK way to go about this?

as long as the screen enclosure is sturdy enough to support the conduit and the fixture, which I assume it will be, then give the customer what they want unless you can propose a cost effective alternative that they like.

I don't see an issue with it as long as you can get secure the conduit. Would EMT look better?

Also, you can use a wp switch box instead of a flood light box if you use the lampholder covers.

If you can securely mount the box and strap the PVC as required I can't think of a violation.

It probably will be butt ugly and if you can think of a better way of doing this you can suggest it to the customer.

I have just walked away from jobs that I didn't like the look of.

Yea, I usually do too. The only alternative is a lot of digging and a post light, but he rather do this, and I'm too old to dig!lol Also, the T11 box will also cover some screen, I thought maybe being a violation, I guess not. Thank you all for the replies!
