in the Nec 430.52, overcurrent protection, what's the difference between protecting the feeder and the branch circuit. if i wanted to hookup a 50hp,480v 60hz motor FLC 65A and run the power to this motor from a 480 busplug,do i just need a disconnect with 125A DE fuses or can i drop down to 100A? also would i pipe from the busplug to another fused disconnect near the machine? for some reason, i feel i always need 2 disconnects but i hear that's not true. i know i need 4cu conductor good for 85A. what's the best recommended way to do this?thanks in advance for help with this school project.i keep mixing up these feeder and branch circuit overprotection circuits.
