Thanks websparky for your response. I was going to install in a NEMA 3R enclosure, just to be on the safe side, I was just not sure about it being on GFI.

I was wanting to tell websparky that my electrical inspector said the 30A dryer has to be on GFCI, because it was located outside. Just letting you know.

Ask the inspector what article requires GFCI protection on a 30 amp 250 volt outlet.
210.8(A) Dwelling Units. All 125-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20-ampere receptacles installed in the locations specified in (1) through (8) shall have ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for personnel.
