Was wandering about the installation of a 30A dryer receptacle under a Patio cover. Does this Have to be on GFI.

Thanks websparky for your response. I was going to install in a NEMA 3R enclosure, just to be on the safe side, I was just not sure about it being on GFI.
Again Thanks

Re: Installation of Dryer receptacle under a Patio Cover

I was wanting to tell websparky that my electrical inspector said the 30A dryer has to be on GFCI, because it was located outside. Just letting you know. :)

Ask the inspector what article requires GFCI protection on a 30 amp 250 volt outlet.

210.8(A) Dwelling Units. All 125-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20-ampere receptacles installed in the locations specified in (1) through (8) shall have ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for personnel.
