installation of speaker cable

How does one install new speaker cable to new (distributed 70 volt system) speakers in a building with a suspended ceiling hanging about 20 feet below the building's roof structure? I have been told I cannot attach the speaker cable to the support wires for the ceiling grid nor allow the cable to rest on the suspended ceiling. The previous contractor attached his cable to these support wires. This building is a combination cafeteria/auditorium in a public school. afigeac@cfl.rr.com
