I'm installing a Guardian 15k Generator. It came with 100 amp NEMA 1 transfer switch with a built in twelve circuit load center.
But because of the outside location of the generator and the fact and this is old home I would like to mount this box next to the generator on the outside wall next to the homes load center which is also located outside.
What does the code say I need to do to protect this type 1 box. Can I build a wooden enclosure with doors? Would any kind of enclosure suffice or does the whole box need to be enclosed in some other manner.
