When mounting a outlet box to a poured concrete wall, what type of box is appropriate for this application? Anchor type?
Thanks.

Thats almost a "dealer's choice" question. I would use a handy-box and plastic anchors for most applications, or a four square and RS cover.

AWWT: notice the he says ON the wall. I think you are refering to a masonry box for IN the wall, in which case I would agree with you.

EDIT: Sorry looks like we were writing at the same time. Didn't mean to embaress you :(

Another box to consider for moist or wet conditions is the Carlon PVC box, or a Bell box. Of course, the connectors and conduit must be approved for wet locations, as well.

Steve,
We use 4 inch square by inch and a half deep metal boxes and put raised single duplex covers on them (or raised GFCI). We mount them to the wall with "TAPCON" fasteners. If your supplier carries the 4 inch boxes that have a raised area at the back of the box for the ground screw, it will save you the trouble of drilling a ground screw relief hole in the wall.

Same here Tap cons are great but I switched over to powder actuated. Saves time. I use a 3/4" fastener. Works great but tougher to relocate.

Do have to be licensed in your area to use powder actuated?

smcsee; I second Mike's method. I, too, used to use the powder actuated fasteners, still do some. When I worked up north you were required to have a permit to buy and use them, here in TN we don't as of yet. The biggest reason I've gotten away from them is the removability/relocate-ability issue Mike Ames spoke of.
