I am installing a Square D (SU3040D400CB) which is a 400 amp rated panel with 320 amps continues. One 200 amp breaker is installed and there is an empty socket for another 200 amp breaker for direct wiring to another service panel. Reading NEC and other post the SE should be 400 kcmil or higher. Question is can 350 kcmil be used as SE in 3" Schedule 40 PVC with a distance of about 25' from the weather head to the service panel? The one 200 amp empty socket will be used in future for dwelling service panel. Thanks for your replys. Footnote wiring in panel to main breakers is #4/0 from meter sockets.

I cannot tell from your member profile (i.e., ?retired?) whether or not you once fit into this category. However, your question makes it clear that you are planning to perform electrical work at your own home. Based on the way you worded your question, it appears to me that you are not an electrician, not even a retired one. We are not permitted to provide ?how-to? assistance to a ?do-it-yourself? person.

If you can show me that I am wrong, and that you are (or once were) a licensed electrician, then I will reopen your post, and post an apology for the delay and inconvenience.
