Hello,

I was looking for a reference that allows two different types of wire in a single conduit.

I have THHN and XHHN-2. The only thing I can reference is that they need to have the same voltage rating.

So my question is...

Can two types of wire run in the same conduit as long as the same rating?

Thank You for your time.

Joe

2005 NEC 300.3(C)(1) All conductors in a raceway must have an insulation rating equal to at least the max circuit voltage applied to any conductor. So they don't even have to be the same rating as long as the minimum rating exceeds the highest voltage in the conduit. Remember table 310.15(B)(2)(a) for more than 3 current in a raceway.
