Anyone in NJ area familiar with their continuing education classes? The instructor is Ed Osoliniec, will be put you to sleep?

thanks in advance

I've taken one of his classes. Sleep? Just the opposite. He's VERY thorough, knowledgeable, well prepared, interesting and will keep you after class to finish his power point presentation. A great class if you really want to learn something but expect to be there for every minute. If you're looking to just fill up your CE credits then there are easier choices.

infinity,

no, actually i'm looking to learn. we are moving into some new directions and i'm ready to learn. I've just sat through too many classes where they essentially read from the book they give you, word for word...not for me.

then I shall sign up for a few of his courses.

very good

thanks

I have taken one of Ed Osoliniec's (ITA) classes. He's an excellent instructor but be prepared to sit there for every minute of the hour. One session he actually went past the required time to finish his agenda. Some guys were grumbling that he was too much college professor and not enough electrician. If you want to have a chance at really learning something I would suggest his courses. If you're simply looking to fill you CE credits there are easier ways to do it.

Did we all get flyers this week? (See my post #2)

I thought that I remembered Celtics post from a month or so ago.

I got another ITA flyer today and remebered your praiseful comments about Mr. Osoliniec.

besides, my mailman doesn't know where to deliver mail simply addressed to "mahlere"....so it took a while to get here...sorry...

I can understand your complaint, it is very difficult to get a good days sleep with the fan noise from the power point presentation. Next time try to get a seat in the back, and bring ear plugs.

IMO the 30 hours is insane, 10 hours of quality courses would have better results. A statement was made that the reason for increased hours, was to create more instructor jobs, continued education is a good thing, but a rush to complete hours is just nuts, most of the programs have last minute sign ups, and there is a last minute rush to fill the needed hours, so courses may be selected on a panic basis, rather then an intrest area.

I also got the flyer this week. I'm planning on signing up for the Estimating class that starts in Bridgewater on Monday. I'll let you all know what I think of it.

After sitting through the class today, I can only agree with all the positive input here. Ed's a very good instructor.

Ed brings a lot to the table. He's an Electrical Contractor, Professional Engineer, Writer and Professor. That gives him a broad array of insight into this business.
