Insurance Claims?

Has anyone ever had to file a claim against their GL policy?
Just curious after reading the post about Insurance.

In my 18 years of business I have never, and only once did I drop a new $400 chandelier, which I replaced no charge the same day.

I fugure if I ever get a claim against my GL I will not be able to afford the price increase and will be in forced retirement thereafter. I live in the Great State of Florida where the insurance industry has their very own Insurance Commisioner. He is elected every few years and agrees to pumel anybody filing insurance claims in this state. YUP he shows up at your door unanounced with a very large gorrilla named Guido and a couple of baseball bats ( with the Tampa Bay Logo on em) and beats the crap out of you.

Now if you are an employee you get to file many MANY bogus Workmans Comp claims and retire in stile.
Moral of the story? Either work someplace else or for somebody else.

no claims

"where,""oh where,"has the spell check gone???

Just submitted my first claim ever last week. One of my guys dropped a ballast in a dental office. Broke the removable sink which patient spits in. Dentist claimed he couldn't buy just the broken piece, and needed to buy whole assembly at $1500.00. I talked to my agent who said there's no surcharge or anything, so I submitted claim.

Without getting into details, I have doubts about wheter dentist is telling the truth, but I didn't say anything to the insurance co.

Insurance company called for details, and are going to investigate. They may or may not pay claim, depending on whether they believe dentist is trying to get something additional on their dime. I guess they see attempted fraud all the time.

I'll let you know the results.
