Before I start tearing all my smoke detectors and wiring out, what are your first thoughts.
I tested my smoke detectors and only the one with the actual smoke is going off. There are 7 detectors, I wired, installed, and tested 6 years ago. They worked fine then.

My first thought is They could all be defective on the feed thru end. I would install 2 new ones and see what happens. Smokes supposedly should be replaced every 10 years anyway.... Try two and see what happens. If you know which was the first on the circuit then I would start there.

Yes, I began the feed in the basement smoke detector/alarm then jumped to the kitchen and then upstairs. We have tested them annually using the "test" button to see that they worked individually, this time I actually set one off to be sure the interconnections were operating properly. Thanks for the help.
