Intermatic T-171 timer problem...

I have installed many of these timers and until recently I have never had a problem with them, but recently I have had problems with two in a row, one the dial mechanism became loose and wouldnt keep time, and then when I replaced it with a new one the OFF trip pin works, but the ON trip pin doesnt turn the timer back on. I have messed around with placing the ON tripper right in front of the mechanism and it appears to hit it, but when I return later to check on it the timer is not turning on. Anyone else have this problem? I find it unusual to have any problems with Intermatic timers, especially 2 in a row....

If the time indicating wheel is bent they will do this. Ive tried to straighten out the wheel but with little success. Look at the plain of the wheel and see if its bent or off plain with the frame. If so the tabs wont make contact with the on off mechanisms.
