I have procedure room used for cosmetic eye procedures where invasive procedure is being performed and their are patients connected to monitors via several lines. These monitor for heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, C02 output. There are no breathing machines or gas being administered to the patient sedation.
The governing body letter says the procedure room is general care. However according to critical care definition NEC 2017 Article 517.2 i do note if there are line operated patient care related appliances and their is invasive procedure then its critical care space.
I stated that but engineer keeps on saying they are monitor for heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, C02 output. There are no breathing machines or gas being administered to the patient sedation.
Should the procedure room not be critical care space or general care space?
