I use SmartHome's Hidden IR Repeater System ($90). It works like a charm and it was cheap!

When it comes to HDMI cables...beware of being scammed. There have been many independent lab reports that have shown little to no difference between a 6' $150 Monster Cable and a 6' $10 Monoprice cable. I have setup my 3 HDTV's (the largest is a 52" Plasma) with HDMI cables from http://www.monoprice.com They are absolutely the best built for the money you can get. The moral of the story is to pay attention to the wire gage (AWG). The bigger the conductor, the lower the loss over longer runs.

This Gizmodo article is perhaps the most technical and side by side comparison.

Keep in mind that I am only talking about HDMI cables only...not component video or RCA style cables..
