Irrigation pump disconnect

Is a disconnect required on/near the installation of an irrigation pump that is located about 75 feet away from the panel? If so where in the code would require this?

Take a look at 430.102. A motor requires a disconnecting means within sight of the motor.

Here is the NEC definition of within sight:

In Sight From (Within Sight From, Within Sight). Where this Code specifies that one equipment shall be ?in sight from,? ?within sight from,? or ?within sight of,? and so forth, another equipment, the specified equipment is to be visible and not more than 15 m (50 ft) distant from the other.

So the required disconnecting means can't be more than 50 feet away.
