Greetings Brothers

My 2nd post on this site and still looking for others from my area to learn as much as possible for the test.
Is there anyone from South Carolina studying the 2017 Tom Henry Book for Journeyman / Master Electrician exam?
I have taken a course for the SC 2017 NEC and I would like to chat with others from my area for further study.
I am looking for others to share info with for like-minded for the same goal.
There are so many offering courses and classes but when I look at the free material I sometimes wonder. I have never been one to buy a pig in a poke, if I can't see the pig before I buy, I do not buy.

Do you have two years experience?
Will a license from this non profit really help you in any way? The license application doesn’t ask for it.
ive been licensed in SC for several years now and didn’t even know this licensing existed until now.
If so forget that trade exam and get the contractors license.
When I took it it was straight look up out of the book, but very heavy in business questions.

Greetings Mr. Hv&Lv

I have the time in grade as an electrician {40 years Nuclear I&C III Technician} although after taking the Journeyman / Master Electrician Exam Prep class, I have learned that in order to qualify for the MASC Municipal Association of South Carolina test which is through the Provexam.com, that I must have worked under a master electrician for 2 years and have them send a written letter so that I can qualify to take the test to become a Journeyman / Master Electrician for the state of South Carolina.
Also, I have a 2-year Associate Degree that would qualify me for 1 year of experience as an electrician.

There are other specifications to be considered in order to take the Master Electrician test.

If I wanted to become a qualified Electrician to perform work on my own I would consider taking the LLR and it is based on my assets to qualify.

Tommy
I’m just saying if you have the experience, why waste money on the J-man certificate which I don’t believe really carries any weight in SC.

But if you want it and want to work for someone else, go for it.

Or get your own license and still work for someone else if that’s what you want to do.
