Is this a non-ideal installation or an actual NEC violation.

I have been looking at installations for years, and while I considered this a bad install, I really haven't been calling them out....

So if you have a free standing panelboard, is it OK to mound a switch on the side of the box or a plug off the bottom off 3-6 inches of conduit without any support other than the conduit or the enclosure? Attaching photos..

Is there a reference for why this is an issue, other than not a manufacturer's approved installation, may void UL listing and the general "neat and professional installation" reference of the NEC?

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. The handy boxes need support. Any of the others. That are connected with just a nipple need supporting, or securing.
Odd to see a handy box In industrial location.
