Hi -

I recently had my electrician in to cleanup some wiring concerns I had. This was the solution. Is this done properly? This was done by a licensed guy.

This is located in one of the bays inside the crawl of my house. Just doesn't look right to me, but I'm not sure if any of the cables going into that junction box may have been restrictive of how to solve. And no doubt this was a difficult location to work in. Should the box have been mounted?

Thanks!

Mike

Definitely not done correctly. Box needs to be secure to the structure.. and many of those cables, conduits require strapping within a certain distance of the box. NM (i.e. Non_Metallic Cable)(i.e. that white shit) being strapped within 12" of every outlet box, barring a few exceptions and special circumstances. Box fill might also be an issue (i.e. too many wires in the box).

Homeowner / DIY question.
Possibly. If it is, it is brilliantly constructed in such a way that it appears to be a genuine request for help.

But we're not telling, or at least I'm not telling, the OP "how" to do anything. Just what's wrong with the existing electric in the photograph.
I suppose there could be some overlap between the two (i.e. stating what is incorrect // how to do something).
