Is UPS in data center a separately derived system?do we need to connect neutral and ground in first down stream panel out of the UPS. are the PDUs in Datacenter treated as separately derived system?

Or if it is a dual- conversion (always on) UPS, whether the output neutral is directly connected to the input neutral. I do not know of any where it is not.

There are dual conversion UPS with 480v 3ph (3hot+EGC) input and 120/208Y output.

Then theres the 480v output UPS and PDUs with transformers in them.

Then theres the new(er) 480? in -> 240/415Y stuff.

So my answer = "It depends"
