Why not.... I can have receptacles wherever I want as long as I have the required receptacles to cover the area in question.Im pretty certain that im right about this but ill ask anyway. in addition to the required receptacles on a kitchen island, can you have additional receptacles where the over hang is more then 6 inches i say not permitted no matter what

It appears that the second draft of the 2023 code will do the same.Luckily, our State makes island/peninsula receptacles optional.
There is one "pop-up" type that is listed for use in countertops, but it is pricey and takes space below the countertop.Where on island now u put them I got this kid pulling deep fryer rumor and getting hurt And on the sides of islands and penisula is banned But i also heard it was reveresed
I just heard this tooo... 2020 wanted more Island receptacles for the NY open loft type occupancys and now 2023 the complete opposite...optional.It appears that the second draft of the 2023 code will do the same.
The language I saw stops short of saying that....just provisions must be made for a future receptacle outlet. That could be a spare NM stubbed into the cabinet, a raceway stubbed into the cabinet, of where the area below is accessible, you don't need to do anything.I just heard this tooo... 2020 wanted more Island receptacles for the NY open loft type occupancys and now 2023 the complete opposite...optional.
But still need to hit the island with outlet and blank plate in 2023
I thought it was just me.LOL, I read the title and wondered why someone needed to count islands?...
