Island receptacle location

The 2023 code does not require a receptacle to be placed in a kitchen island.

I realize provisions must be made for a future install.

With that being said if a receptacle were to be placed can it now be installed in a countertop overhang that exceeds 6”?
I know this would not be an ideal location.

I don’t see the 6” requirement anymore . Am I missing it?

The purpose of the new rule is so that you cannot use a receptacle on the island that isn't in the island. Install according.
