I am currently doing a project that has some child care areas and therefore will require tamper resistant receptacles. One or 2 outlets per room involve some audio video equipment and are shown to be isolated ground. Does anybody know if a combination tamper/isolated ground receptacle is available?

Not that I have ever seen. Any chance of mounting high enough to not be required?

Well, I have never seen one, but there seem to be quite a few on the internet. Google search isolated ground tamper resistant and you will find some straight duplex receptacles: http://www.amazon.com/Leviton-MT162-IG-Tamper-Resistant-Industrial-Receptacle/dp/B005Y8K5KI
and even some that are also GFCI! (http://www.legrand.us/passandseymour/gfci/isolated ground/2095igtrw.aspx#.VCMRHudsiBA)
But the one that takes the proverbial cake is IG, TR, with integral surge protection for that delicate electronic equipment: http://www.legrand.us/passandseymou...amper-resistant/trig5362osp.aspx#.VCMRqOdsiBA

Wait till you price them out. :p

Well, how true. Learn something everyday....I'm amazed that they are made. Probably sell at least a dozen or so a year I bet in a country of 300 million plus...but hey, at least you can get 'em if you need 'em.

Now as to whether iso ground receps are of any value as most modern electronic stuff is more stable than the olden days, especially how many are installed, is another debate.

There are commercial grade and used in hospital pediatric locations, this goes back before the TR requirement for dwelling units. We have a retail chain that has been specifying TRs in public areas for at least 15 years. :)

I recently wired a residence where after I had started trimming it out, the owner asked about installing isolated ground devices for his main computer system.
The power company builds & installs the 200 amp service on their overhead pole that has a transformer on it. It is then the electricians job to take power to the structure.
I informed him that at this time it would require quite a bit to re-do everything!
He just said O.K., that equipment now-of-days probably does not require it as much as they use to.
