Recently encountered a receptacle in an OR with a green dot on it; i.e. the symbol for Isolated Ground. The receptacle is wired to an Isolated Power panel. But certainly does not have isolated ground.

I thought someone, somewhere along the line had confused the two and that the green dot for Isolated Ground ought not to be on the device.

A google search revealed other applications where Isolated Power systems used receptacles with this same green dot on them.

Isn't that incorrect? Is there even a symbol for Isolated Power Receptacles? If so, what is it?

The green dot is for hospital grade. Orange colored devices no longer signify IG that would be indicated by a triangle on the device.

There was a time when IG receptacle were orange in color or had the orange triangle but in the 1996 NEC eliminated the orange receptacle as a way to identify an IG.
