In a hospital main Essential Electrical System room (with ATS's for 3 branches and distribution for same) presently under construction, I noticed the other day, that they are putting a wire trough around the room via which all outgoing circuits from life safety, critical and equipment branch are running. I don't believe you can run the equipment branch with the Life Safety and Critical. Do you agree with me there. Then, what about Life safety and critical; can they run in the same trough. Does it matter that all of this takes place within a 2 hour rated room.

The Critical and Life Safety must be kept separated from each other and all other wiring with the exception of the four conditions in 517.30(C)(1)
My reference is from the 2014, I believe it is 517.31 in the 2017
