Is it legal to install both grounded systems and ungrounded isolation power systems receptacles in the same operating room? It appears this would cause some confusion for medical staff when plugging in equipment during surgery, but I do not see a code violation. Have I missed something? or can someone explain why this would be an acceptable practice

Different color receptacles would indicate specific uses. Isolated ground receptacles would be orange. Receptacles on the emergency backup generator would be red. Then you would have general use receptacles which would be the standard color throughout the facility. I hope this helps.

Thank you for responding. However, I think you are misunderstanding my question. I am not talking about isolated ground receptacles, I am referring to isolation power systems found in NEC 517 Health Care facilities, i.e. hospitals. These systems are ungrounded are used primary for operating rooms. I wanted to know if there were any prohibitions against having grounded systems in the same operating room as ungrounded systems.
