When isolated ground branch circuit wiring is to be installed is hospital grade type mc cable acceptable? Using the sheath and continues bare bonding strip as the equipment ground and the insulated green conductor as the isolated ground. Or should a cable assembly with two separate grounding conductors be used.

Re: Isoltated grounding

Yes and no.

It is not Hospital grade MC, it is Hospital grade AC cable.

So if AC cable is acceptable to use in the job specs or NEC (not a theater etc. 320.12) we do this and I have asked on these boards before and everyone seems to say compliant.

If the job requires MC we will use IG MC with two grounds.

Re: Isoltated grounding

It has to have a redundant ground path. Hosptial grade AC does, standard MC does not, unless the jacket is listed as an equipment grounding conductor, most are not.
