I am an engineer that works with electrical supply houses to provide short circuit coordination and arc-flash studies when required on a job. I would like to expand my reach and try and find additional supply houses and/or electrical contractors who come across these requests in the specs so I can let them know of my services ahead of time and generate more leads.

Has anyone used iSqFt or similar services as an engineer for something? I did a search on the forums but only found older threads without much input from anyone. I was hoping more of you might have used this website or a similar service and could provide some insight.

Thanks.

99% of the time I leave it up to the supplier to handle this for me, but, there are times when the project EE’s will list specific engineers to work with in the plans for coordination studies. So maybe you could reach out to another engineering firm that just handles the drawings & specs to be a preferred vendor for such things.

I have worked with some engineers that go directly to the customer; like a nationwide retailer. They’ll have their services specified on every project for that client.

In your experience do most suppliers seem to have the manufacturer provide the study (i.e. directly from Square D or Eaton), or do you notice third parties like myself being involved?

I do a lot of work in the NYC area and it seems to be more of the latter but I'm curious how it works here in the southeast since I'm trying to expand.
