I have a customer who called and said they need to ground their enclosure that houses their servers and equipment. Apparently it has been in use for years without. First thing the IT manager says is that we need to drive a ground rod and attach it to the frame.
My suggestion was to run an insulated Cu conductor back to the main service disconnect and tie into the GEC. I will admit I have limited experience in this particular application, is what I'm proposing sound realistic and is it correct? I would take it to an intersystem bonding bar and mount it near the equipment and they could take it from there. What is the code section that covers this application? Also, sizing of conductor. Thanks for any help.
