We have Quickbooks Premier and are thinking about upgrading to the Contractor Edition. We also want to purchase and integrate an estimating & job costing package into the Quickbooks application, rather than doing this with multiple spreadsheets. Any suggestions?

Re: Job Costing

Quick books Pro is a good happy medium. As far as an estimating system I haven't found a usfull reason to link my business accounting with my estimating program other than toys that can mess up when you least expect it.

Re: Job Costing

Intuit, the owner of QuickBooks recently took over Master Builder. I am assuming that Master Builder is now incorporated into the QuickBooks Premier Contactors Edition (Premier allows multiple users too). Not sure how helpful that would be for an EC, but Master Builder was used by many GC's.

The Contractors Edition includes job costing, estimating, etc., but I have no clue if it's robust enough for an EC.
