Need a little help I have a jacky pump at
1.5 HP at 208V 3Phase I did the calculation but I’m lost on how to do the calculation for the Jacky pump controller wish is
30HP 208V 3phase how do I find what conductor I need or how to do the calculations for the fire pump and the fire pump controller I’m just learning on how to find the conductor for a fire pump and a fire pump controller as well Jacky pump and Jacky pump controller need help to understand on how to do the break down on both

So you have a 30 hp fire pump circuit and the jockey pump is fed how? Is the jockey pump controller fed by a tapping the fire pump circuit?

Ok I have a fire pump at
1.5 HP 92x1.25=115A (table 430.250)
I 208V. #2awg ( 310.15(16)B
3 phase
FLC92

Fire pump controller is
30HP
208V
3phase
Nema(2)

Jacky pump
1.5HP 4.7x1.25=58.75A ( table 430.250)
208V. #6 amg ( 310.15(16)B
3phase
FLC 4.7

Jacky pump controller
1.5HP
208V
3phase

I did the pump calculation and found the wire size but how do I do the calculations to find out the wire size for the controller’s
Do I do it the same way I did the pump?
I’m just trying to learn the way th calculate fire pump and controller’s

Your numbers don;t correspond with Table 430.250 and your math on the 1.5 HP is off 10X (1.5 HP conductor would be a 14.
For your fire pumo conductor size you need to confirm to 695.7 in regard to voltage drop based on starting current and wire lingth which you have not indicated,

What Augie saying is that some of these numbers are incorrect.
Let's start with the fire pump:

30 HP @ 208 volts
T430.250 = 88 amps
88*125% =110 amps minimum conductor size

JOCKEY Pump:
1.5 HP @ 208 volts
T430.250 = 6.6 amps
6.6*125% = 8.25 amps minimum conductor size

You can use the same conductors for the controllers that you use for the motors.

Also for clarity it's called a JOCKEY pump.

We frequently have fire pump questions, the requirements are quite different from other motor loads. I recommend you review Art 695, and note if you have OCPD ahead of the fire pump controller it has to be able to carry locked rotor current without opening. In the event of a fire, the fire pump is sacrificial, which is why the are no motor running overloads.
