Has anyone in here installed Johnson Controls TrueAlert ES system? I am curious to know how the cost compares to the conventional fire alarm system. Since T tapping is allowed with this system and the conventional system it is not I can see where you would save on materials. Any insight is welcome.

Thanks

While T-tapping may be allowed, the projects that are of a size to take advantage of that frequently insist on Class A configurations, no exceptions. If you are covering a standard sort of space that is more or less like a box, you're not likely to get much advantage from the product.

Thanks for the feedback. We had our rep present to us about it, and it sounds great but wasn't sure if it makes sense when looking at the overall picture.

The nifty self-testing and reporting features are great for the technician doing troubleshooting, but pretty meaningless for an end-user. In fact, for an end-user with a maintenance staff, if there's a non-functional or damaged notification appliance, it pretty much means they can't do their own repairs.
