I am hoping to test for my unlimited journeyman in the next few months or so. Is there anyway of getting a copy of a practice test with and answer key? If I can get different ones to cover several versions of the test, that would be awesome.

To be honest, I was in sticker shock at the price of the whole system. I didn't realize I could buy individual books lol. So I just bought the practice exam book.

Mike's material is the best out there that I have seen. I keep a set of his books around now for reference, but I could not have afforded them when I was an apprentice. He runs sales a few times a year and Christmas time is one of them. I also tell my apprentices that they don't need the latest edition. Most of the material on the journeyman's exam doesn't change that much even though the code updates every three years so you can save some money by buying the material from a couple of cycles back.

The most important part of passing the test for your journeyman's is being able to navigate the code book. When I prepped for my test I didn't have the money for an old set of study guides, let alone a new one. I did have access to a whole stack of old EC&M magazines (which is available online now) so I went through every one of them and read the "Stumped By the Code" articles and looked up the code references given in the answers. When I took the test I was able to find a lot of the answers in the code book without needing to slog through the index.

I actually just subscribed to a physical copy of EC&M.. and the copy I got was the 2017. I'm in Kansas so there isn't a statewide exam but I can test on 2017 I'm which is what I studied when I was in trade school
