What were you before?
You just got promoted to junior estimator from what position? Just wondering what "practical" experience you might have.
I think that a company would be better off sometimes having a estimator work in the field as a "helper" for a few months before turning them loose on estimating. This will help to understand things like non-productive time for deliveries, etc. Just something to think about if you don't have any field experience.
