Jury Duty

I have to take the day off from work and go sit at the courthouse and see if I get picked for jury duty, nothing like a non-productive day. I hope that I dont get picked, I cannot afford to turn work away to sit in court.....

We get $15 a day plus mileage here, a real get rich endeavor. On the other hand as an employer I would rather they call me because I have to pay my employees full pay for work missed while on jury duty.

Contact the clerk of the court and explain your situation. You can typically get it posponed or dismissed.

That didn't work for me. Was told you and everyone else in this room is in the same situation. Deal with it.
Was there for a week. Employer wasn't going to pay me either. Until it was pointed out that they had payed another employee for jury duty, so they had to pay me.

Do your civic duty and stop complaining.Everybody wants criminals off the street but nobody wants to serve jury duty.If missing one day is going to bankrupt your business then you probably need to be looking for another line of work.
