I just got back from the Eastern Section IAEI meeting in Philadelphia. I met a couple of the guys who post here, and that was pretty cool.
There is a lot to digest after such an experience, when some of it is filtered through my mind, I will post what happened.
I will say that the focus was on the changes of the 2008 NEC proposals... there was a lot of discussion, on the floor and in small informal conversations.
I have been going to these meetings for many years, and one of the best experiences is seeing all of the people who also continue to come every year. I have been able to make great contacts with guys from Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland. It is great to see these guys year in and year out, it is too bad that we only get to see each other just once a year.
A smathering of things that we received for taking the time to go.
1. The hard copy of the ROP and the DRAFT, multiple copies.
2. The new White Book from UL. If you have not seen it, go to UL's site and you can apply for a free copy. It has been vastly revised and has some new parts to it, now making it an even more valuable tool than before.
3. Access to many CMP members who take the time to answer any question asked of them... just an incredible way to learn.
4. Access to many of the Vendor and other professionals in our industry for first hand info, another incredible way to learn first hand, what I may not otherwise have been able to do.
