I just got home from doing my biennial CEU's at Mikes live training in Orlando. There were 700 attendees from 30 something states. The furthest traveler was from Anchorage, Alaska, over 4000 miles away. Mike looked as spry as ever. I wasn't expecting to learn much new about grounding and bonding, but I did and Mike made it interesting, including showing a video of him swimming in an electrically charged pool.

That video was once on youtube, not sure if he took it down. I can only assume there are too many idiots that think they understand and don't and may try it? Its like walking a tight rope in my opinion. It can be done relatively safely but no margin for error. I an others on this forum have discussed times when we did demos for classes involving buckets of water, GFCI, and putting hands in the water with live extension cords, etc... My first time doing it I questioned if I should be showing the class, and double and triple checked my sanity and procedure to make sure I wasn't a statistic. Its an awesome learning experience and demo for people who are new, but it also has some drawbacks. Perhaps a video is best. Do it once and be done, then have the value of the video to show over and over with a disclaimer. I guess Mike still uses that video, good to hear!

So is this a demonstration of how electricity flows to the source or?

If I remember correctly it demonstrates that if you are at a potential, you won't be shocked as long as you don't touch a different potential. In this case the pool water and pool deck were at the same potential which was 120 volts.
