I am curious what everyone here thinks about Kiosk Panels in Mall type environments. Premanufactured wiring assemblies should be listed from the factory, but I am referring to built in place kiosks.
I am attempting to hash out some design standards, but would like to hear multiple sides of an argument.
Most kiosks are designed for appearance and functionality, with a total disregard for wiring and security.
The ones that I am used to seeing are designed with a cabinet for the panel. This will violate several codes regarding clearance and dedicated electrical space. Placing a panel on the outside would be an eyesore and accessible to the public (could be locked).
What do you guys think about these types of installations. Any comments are welcome; the good, the bad, the ugly, the code compliant and the possible (local) exceptions to the code.
