1st Should a dishwasher be hardwired or can you just plug it in under the sink.
2nd A waste disposal , do you need a cord and plug or can you hard wire
3rd Can under counter lights be fed from a under counter receptacle

This was the subject of a very long debate more than a year ago. I don't know if it can be found anymore (there's been some trouble of late with archived threads).

I don't recall whether it came to any consensus. Please don't take this as a invitation to reopen the debate, but at this point I am open to the interpretation that plugging an undercounter light into a countertop receptacle is not a code violation. But I also think it's not a good design. If you are putting in new cabinets and new lights, the best thing is to hard wire the undercabinet lights to a wall switch.
