A friend asked me to help with a code ruling concerning branch circuit load calc for a household dishwasher and garbage disposal. He is working with the IRC and the 1999 NEC. What it comes down to is this: Do you consider the above mentioned appliances to be "motor-operated equipment"? I confess I've never done much residential work, but I never thought of household appliances as motor-operated equipment.
