Kitchen hood circuit Residential

Was a there a code requirement for an individual branch circuit for a kitchen hood? I havent had to do residential/houses in a while, and I do remember times in the past we would run a seperate circuit for the kitchen hood in case it got changed over to a microwave/hood combo, and I believed it was code required. Now I cannot locate it in the NEC.

If it has a cord and plug it has to be a dedicated circuit.

A dedicated circuit is / was not requiredired for the regular hard wired hood. 422.16 (Unless required by the instructions)

422.16(4)(5) addresses the cord and plug requiring an individual circuit.

If the hood fan motor is over 6 amps 430.53 will apply. Other than that you wont find anything.

I think we posted at the same time, consider my code reference for hard wired range hoods. I think your code reference in the 2023 NEC is 422.16(4)(3)
