Re: Kitchen outlets

To be more specific...I am working on a large apartment job..we are currently trimming out and "of course" some people didnt rough in the kitchen close enough to the prints. As I went in to the apartment with a newer journyman I noticed this. After I commented to him that we would need to move it I added Ive never found it being an actual violation but knowing the inspector (and thoughts on it of my own) I knew it wouldnt fly. He then commented to me that it was a violation that he had seen it or heard it before. After asking him to find it he shrugged it off. I have looked through it again and again thinking it might have changed but cant find it. Mabye you guys can help it would be a load off my mind. THANKS>>

Re: Kitchen outlets

I don't see how it would be a violation to have a receptacle behind the sink but this receptacle will not count as one of your counter top receptacles. You are required to have a receptacle within 24" of the edge of the kitchen sink so if you spaced you receptacles 4' apart your closest receptacle might now be over 3' away.
