Other than obvious concerns on flames from cooktop, is their a specific reference prohibiting this installation. Article 400.8(7) flexible cords come to mind but does this section apply to general appliance cords ( toasters, bread machines etc )

Appreciate the feedback. Not sure how to call this.

Poor lay out but not a violation. Look at the installation drawing in 210.52 C 1 The recp could have been moved to the left away from the cook top as long as it did not exceed 24"
400.8 has nothing to do with appliances with cords.

That is really UGLY. Who spends that much on tile and doesn't move the receptacle over?

Since the coverplate extends out beyond the range by a fingernail, I'd say it even still qualifies as a countertop receptacle. Another half inch to the right, and I'd say it no longer qualifies, and there better be a receptacle within 24" of that cooktop. :)

Both of the receptacles are above the stove top.

If I was the customer you would not get final payment until you moved that one or added another.

What we really need is to get a picture straight along the side of the range to the face of the receptacle to be really sure. :D
