Klein Pliers Question

Hello, does anyone have an approximate time line when Klein used the yellow and black boxes to sell pliers in? When did it switch over to the blister packaging of today? When you went into the supply house could you buy the pliers in the black and yellow boxes or where they loose? What did they use prior to the black and yellow boxes? I'm asking because I picked up some old Klein tools. The person I purchased them from said black and yellow boxes were from the 80's. Thanks !

mid to late 80's was when i think that the boxes went away.
i got in in the late 1970's. when the boxes went away, the stuff
just hung on pegs on the wall of the wholesale house. then, when
it went mass market, a la HD and Lowes, blister packs started in...
