Come on now, with all the code experts here, I thought sure I would see some code violation comments. I am wondering what this wiring is used for since there is no explaination. I see alot of throw switches and would like a little more back ground if possible. Very cool by the way.

I received the picture from the Chief Electrical Inspector of Pasco County, Florida.

According to him, the building was a "Textile Facility" built in the early 1920's...

Speaking for myself, that is the most complicated K&T install I've ever seen. It looks like there are even CTs in the lower right. Double layer K&T. I can't see anything that looks like a transposition that would indicate an oops.

What it must have taken to set the firring strips into the masonry walls, in co-ordination with the masons, and before the equipment was there. . . . :jawdrop:

The only thing I noticed was the conductors crossing in front of the window opening. Other than that, it was pure art work!

I do not have a 1920 code book so I cannot comment on any violations.

Looks to me like QUALITY K&T wiring for the period!!! :happyyes:

Can't help but make me think, is always the way we install it and not the method. And I mean the failure to install it properly.
Obviously that method made it through 50+ years....
