Knockoff Square D Breakers??

I heard a rumor that there were some knockoff square d breakers going around out there that were only a simple switch with no overcurrent protection in them. Is there any truth to this???

There have been a couple batches of counterfeits over the last couple years. It is not at all clear, however, that they do not contain overcurrent protection. I think Square D would like you to believe that.
